The Jarrahdale Unwind group highlights how a simple gathering can ripple out to make a major community impact.
The ANZAC Poppy Project
One of the group’s most successful initiatives is their annual poppy campaign. Between February and April each year, the members spend many hours hand-crocheting beautiful, intricate poppy pins and creating striking public displays.
These handmade creations are sold throughout the Shire—including at local primary schools and community hubs—ahead of ANZAC Day. 100% of the proceeds are donated to vital causes like the Veterans’ Transition Centre, providing direct, meaningful support to veterans and their families.
